It’s been very cold here the past day or so…
I woke up this morning and everything was covered with a delicate filigree of ice.
It was so beautiful I had to take pictures, of course.
The big evergreens on the hill behind the barn looked majestic (and Christmasy!) with their dusting of white…

But I really loved getting up close and seeing the delicate magic created by the snow and ice.

Even the weeds were transformed into things of beauty by the snow.

This yucca plant had what looked like strings of ice diamonds dangling from it’s leaves.

They seem to be attached with tiny threads, the remains of a spider web perhaps?
Whatever…. I thought they were beautiful.

It’s supposed to warm up tomorrow…
I’ll be a little sad to see the ice melt.

I think the yucka diamonds are actually on the yucka fibers…you can kinda see them in your picture.
But you’re right…they are beautiful!
I’ve been kinda lucky with this flu…I haven’t been outside in this cold since last Tuesday.
Do stay warm!
Beautiful!
Those are just gorgeous pictures - I especially like the yucca-diamonds as well. Looking at the pics reminds me how it must feel to be out in that weather.
GORGEOUS!
I don’t think our ice will ever melt. Brrr. It was -19 yesterday morning. Brrr..
I love the snow/icy trees too. Beautiful. I think I have some pictures here of that too. I’ll have to dig them out.
Thanks for you help with the unit study.
